The Desert Perpetual Raid

Rewards
Your selected Desert Perpetual route is the service target we plan around first: Standard or Epic difficulty, full completion or final boss, one character or 3-character coverage, hidden chests, shader/quest work, armor, weapon loot, or feat-focused execution. The order guarantees the objective you choose; exact raid drops, perk rolls, attuned armor pieces, Exotic chances, and bonus loot still follow Destiny 2 reward rules unless a dedicated option explicitly guarantees that result.
- Standard routes: Standard Completion, Standard Completion on 3 Characters, Final Boss Kill Only, or Final Boss Kill Only on 3 Characters.
- Epic routes: Epic Completion and Epic-focused add-ons when the account needs harder raid progress, Epic weapon/armor routing, Atlas and Almanac, Full Armor Set, or feat planning. For only Epic intent, see The Desert Perpetual Epic Raid.
- Standard weapon pool: Finite Maybe, Lance Ephemeral, Intercalary, Antedate, The When and Where, Opaque Hourglass, and the Exotic Whirling Ovation chance.
- Epic weapon pool: Starscape Null, Cusp Sempiternal, and The Ever-Present, plus Epic armor/cosmetic routes where eligible.
- Armor and set bonuses: Collective Psyche armor comes from Standard Desert Perpetual; Wayward Psyche armor comes from Epic and has its own 2-piece/4-piece set bonuses. Select Full Armor Set or Epic routes when the armor chase is the main goal.
- Feat routes: Token Limit, Additional Battalions, Phase Limit, Encounter Challenges, and Cutthroat Combat are planned as objective-focused runs, not casual clear extras.

Description
Destiny 2 The Desert Perpetual Raid Carry
The Desert Perpetual can be ordered for many different goals: Standard raid clear, Epic Desert Perpetual, final boss kill, Whirling Ovation chance, loot-table farming, Collective Psyche armor, Wayward Psyche armor, armor set bonuses, raid weapons, Envoy’s Togs Shader, Atlas and Almanac, or feat runs. This page separates the loot, armor, set bonuses, difficulty split, and RNG rules so the selected order matches the account goal.
This CarrySquad page is the combined Desert Perpetual raid carry for players who want one calculator that covers both Standard and Epic paths. Use it when you need the raid completed, want the final boss handled, need extra chest/quest/shader objectives, want 3-character weekly coverage, or want feat-focused routing without opening several separate products.
Desert Perpetual Weapons and Exotic Loot
The Standard Desert Perpetual loot pool includes Finite Maybe, Lance Ephemeral, Intercalary, Antedate, The When and Where, and Opaque Hourglass. The raid Exotic chase is Whirling Ovation. Epic Desert Perpetual adds its own weapon route with Starscape Null, Cusp Sempiternal, and The Ever-Present. Exact drops and rolls still follow Destiny 2 reward rules unless the selected option is built around that target.
| Weapon | Element / type | Route intent |
|---|---|---|
| Finite Maybe | Solar Fusion Rifle | Standard Desert Perpetual weapon drop. |
| Lance Ephemeral | Strand Sniper Rifle | Standard weapon chase and sniper loot target. |
| Intercalary | Stasis Auto Rifle | Standard weapon pool / auto rifle chase. |
| Antedate | Arc Submachine Gun | Standard weapon pool / SMG chase. |
| The When and Where | Stasis Rocket Launcher | Standard heavy weapon drop. |
| Opaque Hourglass | Arc Combat Bow | Standard bow drop. |
| Whirling Ovation | Strand Rocket Launcher Exotic | Chance-based Exotic from Desert Perpetual. |
| Starscape Null | Solar Shotgun | Epic Desert Perpetual weapon. |
| Cusp Sempiternal | Void Auto Rifle | Epic Desert Perpetual weapon. |
| The Ever-Present | Strand Grenade Launcher | Epic Desert Perpetual weapon. |
Armor: Collective Psyche, Wayward Psyche, and Set Bonuses
Desert Perpetual has two armor families that should be evaluated separately. Collective Psyche is the Standard raid armor set. Wayward Psyche is the Epic raid armor set. Both armor families can matter beyond transmog because the 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses change gameplay value when enough pieces are equipped.
The Collective Psyche set bonus is Accretion at 2 pieces and Doppler Effect at 4 pieces. The Wayward Psyche set bonus is Special Relativity at 2 pieces and Superluminal Motion at 4 pieces. Use the set-bonus table below to decide whether the order should prioritize armor pieces instead of only a clear.
| Armor set | Pieces needed | Set perk effect |
|---|---|---|
| Collective Psyche | 2 pieces — Accretion | Picking up an ammo brick gives a stacking bonus to weapon swap speed and stow speed until death. |
| Collective Psyche | 4 pieces — Doppler Effect | Suspend, unravel, and sever effects applied to enemies last longer; radiant and restoration effects applied to you also last longer. |
| Wayward Psyche | 2 pieces — Special Relativity | Picking up ammo reloads stowed Special weapons from reserves. |
| Wayward Psyche | 4 pieces — Superluminal Motion | After dealing Super damage, health and shields regenerate over time while you are moving; additional Super damage refreshes the effect. |
| Armor route | Pieces | Set bonus / buyer value |
|---|---|---|
| Collective Psyche — Titan | Collective Psyche Helm, Gauntlets, Plate, Greaves, Mark | Standard raid armor with Accretion at 2 pieces and Doppler Effect at 4 pieces. |
| Collective Psyche — Hunter | Collective Psyche Casque, Sleeves, Cuirass, Strides, Cloak | Standard raid armor for Hunter. Attunement can increase the drop chance of the chosen piece where available. |
| Collective Psyche — Warlock | Collective Psyche Cover, Gloves, Robes, Boots, Bond | Standard raid armor for Warlock. Useful for collection, transmog, and set-bonus chase. |
| Wayward Psyche — Titan | Wayward Psyche Helm, Gauntlets, Plate, Greaves, Mark | Epic raid armor with Special Relativity at 2 pieces and Superluminal Motion at 4 pieces. |
| Wayward Psyche — Hunter | Wayward Psyche Casque, Sleeves, Cuirass, Strides, Cloak | Epic raid armor for Hunter and Full Armor Set buyers. |
| Wayward Psyche — Warlock | Wayward Psyche Cover, Gloves, Robes, Boots, Bond | Epic raid armor for Warlock and Epic armor collection routes. |
What You Can Order
Start with the difficulty and route. Standard is the practical choice for normal completion, weekly reward progress, first clear, final boss, hidden chests, Envoy’s Togs Shader, Map and Territory Quest Completion, Standard weapon loot, Collective Psyche armor, and regular feat work. Epic is the better path when you specifically need harder raid progress, Epic weapon drops, Wayward Psyche armor, Atlas and Almanac Quest Completion, Full Armor Set, Skimmed Surface, or more serious feat planning.
If you already know the hard-mode version is the only thing you care about, the dedicated The Desert Perpetual Epic Raid page may be the cleaner route. If the target is a weapon-focused order, the Desert Perpetual Weapons page is the stronger internal handoff. If your main goal is the Exotic only, use the Whirling Ovation page. If the main objective is title/Triumph completion, use The Desert Perpetual Seal.
Chests, Shaders, Emblems, Shell, Vehicle, and Feats
Add Hidden Chests when the account needs extra chest sources during the run. Add Envoy’s Togs Shader or Map and Territory Quest Completion when the order is about cosmetic/quest progress rather than only the clear. Add Atlas and Almanac Quest Completion on Epic-oriented routes when that quest objective is the reason for the order. Add Full Armor Set when Collective Psyche or Wayward Psyche armor matters more than a single clear.
Other reward names worth knowing are Mediant Flourish, Soloist Shell, Third Unknown, and Timeline’s Blade from Standard Desert Perpetual sources, plus After the Unknown, Fractured Timeline, and Skimmed Surface from Epic sources. These should be treated as route/account-state rewards, not guaranteed loot from every basic clear.
The feat options — Token Limit, Additional Battalions, Phase Limit, Encounter Challenges, and Cutthroat Combat — are best treated as planned challenge routes. They can affect how the team approaches each encounter, so they should be selected before the run instead of added as an afterthought.
Guaranteed Work vs RNG Drops
The guaranteed part is the selected CarrySquad service objective: Standard clear, Epic clear, final boss, 3-character coverage, Hidden Chests, shader/quest work, Full Armor Set, or feat route. Exact weapon drops, Whirling Ovation, Collective Psyche pieces, Wayward Psyche pieces, perk rolls, cosmetics, and bonus rewards still follow Destiny 2 reward rules unless a dedicated product or selected option explicitly guarantees that target.
