Description
Conditional Finality is the Exotic shotgun of the Root of Nightmares raid from Destiny 2: Lightfall, and it drops after the fight with Nezarec, Final God of Pain. Its intrinsic, Split Decision, gives it two barrels that alternate: one shot fires Stasis pellets, the next fires Solar. It sits in the Kinetic slot and uses Special ammo, so pair it with an Energy primary.
The second perk, Paracausal Pellets, is where it gets nasty. Land nearly all the Stasis pellets and the target freezes. Land nearly all the Solar pellets and it ignites. Fire both barrels and you can freeze a target, then set it on fire. The weapon's own description also marks it as strong against Unstoppable Champions, so it has a real job in endgame PvE.
The Conditional Finality catalyst pushes it further. Once completed, it Masterworks the weapon and adds two perks: Heal Clip, which grants Cure to you and nearby allies when you reload shortly after a final blow, and Rimestealer, which gives you Frost Armor for destroying a Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen target. With it, the shotgun keeps you alive as well as clearing the space in front of you.
It also comes with a story. The flavor text reads "You will dream of me… I will never leave you…", and the lore entry is told in Nezarec's own voice. Drops are random and raid Triumphs raise the chance, so it is never a sure thing on a single clear.
