Description
Weapon leveling is the first step of everything in Modern Warfare 4. Every gun starts at level 1 and opens a new attachment as it climbs, and each one has its own cap: 72 on the Han 86, 38 on the Sang 9mm, 70 on the Season 1 Cronen Osprey.
What levels unlock
- Attachments. The build you want usually needs parts from the top of the track.
- Military camos. All eight are tied to weapon level, so they unlock on their own as the gun climbs.
- Special camo challenges. They open at set weapon levels, and they are the gate to Gold.
Weapon Prestige and Pyroclast
At Max Level a weapon can enter Weapon Prestige. Its level resets to 1 and attachments relock, except Apex and Blueprint attachments. Each stage pays out a facet of the evolving Pyroclast camo:
- Pyroclast. Reach Weapon Prestige 1, level 1.
- Pyroclast Terminus. Reach Max Level again in Weapon Prestige 1.
- Pyroclast Scatter. Prestige Master level 150.
- Pyroclast Cascade. Prestige Master level 250.
Prestige Master does not reset the gun: you keep every attachment and keep climbing.
Why level first
Platinum needs Gold on every weapon in a class and Harmonic Break needs Platinum on 33 weapons, so unleveled guns hold up the whole camo grind. From Season 1 Warzone shares the same weapon and camo progress.
Pairs well with
- Base Camos. Gold to Divergence once the guns are maxed.
- Multiplayer Mastery Camos. The finish line of the grind.
