Recon Mastery
Rewards
Each option is one Mastery challenge with its own price, and you get the challenges you select. One challenge does not complete Recon Mastery: to finish the whole Recon set, select all five.
- The Target Rich Environment Mastery challenge, with Target Rich Environment
- The Reversal of Fortune Mastery challenge, with Reversal of Fortune
- The Splash Mastery challenge, with Splash
- The Trifecta Mastery challenge, with Trifecta
- The Nowhere to Hide Mastery challenge, with Nowhere to Hide
Description
Recon is Marathon's intel specialist Runner shell. Bungie describes Recon shells as excelling "at identifying threats and tracking movements using echo pulses, tracker drones, and holographic footstep trails". It is one of the six shells Marathon launched with on March 5, alongside Destroyer, Vandal, Triage, Assassin and Thief, and it plays best when your crew needs to know where the other team is before the shooting starts.
Recon's kit
- Echo Pulse. The scan that reveals threats. The October 6 update made significant changes to it: still strong in the right moment, but less mandatory in fights with other teams.
- Tracker drones. Tools for following enemy movement.
- Footstep trails. Holographic trails that show where enemies have walked.
Mastery in the Codex
Each Runner shell has its own Mastery challenges in the Codex, and Codex progress earns exclusive cosmetics and lore. Recon's set is Target Rich Environment, Reversal of Fortune, Splash, Trifecta and Nowhere to Hide. Trifecta is a timed challenge: Bungie fixed its timing requirements on October 20.
Pairs well with Thief Mastery and Assassin Mastery.
