Destiny 2 Raid Carry: Which Raid to Buy First and What It Costs

A Destiny 2 raid carry has experienced players play the raid on your account so you get the clear, the boss or the challenge you came for. Full clears start at $29 and single-boss runs at $19.

The cheapest order is the one that matches your goal. A full clear, a boss checkpoint and a Master challenge run are three different products.

Stuck on a raid? Skip the LFG gamble

Full clears from $29, boss checkpoints from $19. A coach plays the raid on your account.

Step 1: Decide what you want out of the raid

Four goals cover most orders. You want to finish the raid for the first time. You want one boss for a weapon or armor piece. You want weekly loot. Or you want challenges and triumphs for a title.

Write yours down before you look at prices. It sounds silly, and it saves money.

Step 2: Full clear or one boss

If the reward you want drops from one encounter, buy the checkpoint. Last Wish has a Riven final boss option at $19. Vault of Glass has an Atheon checkpoint at $19. Root of Nightmares has a boss checkpoint at $19, and Salvation's Edge has a final boss option at $19.

A full clear is for completion credit and the whole route. It costs $29 on those same four raids.

Running all three characters in one order is cheaper than three orders. Three Guardians on Last Wish, Vault of Glass or Root of Nightmares costs $79 instead of $87.

Step 3: Standard or Master

Standard is the normal clear. Master is harder and it is the only difficulty that completes Master challenges.

Bungie's own description of featured raids says Master pays the same as Standard plus Adept weapons from challenges. A Standard clear will not get you those.

Master starts at $49 on Vault of Glass and Root of Nightmares, and at $99 on Salvation's Edge. All five Master challenges are an add-on: +$99 on Vault of Glass.

Each week, two raids are promoted to featured status. Bungie's This Week in Destiny from May 29, 2026 says Standard featured raids give Deepsight weapons or Tier 5 armor from encounters and challenges, and that the rewards are farmable.

Two things have a weekly lockout: the Director Challenge and the hidden chests.

Non-featured raids on Standard give only a chance at Deepsight weapons and Tier 3 armor. That is why the Raid Rotator exists: one order for the weekly featured raid, from $30. Both featured raids cost $55, and on Master it is $50 or $95 for both.

Step 5: Add chests and challenges before checkout

Hidden Chests are +$10 and All Challenges are +$29 on Last Wish, Vault of Glass and Root of Nightmares. On Salvation's Edge, All Challenges is +$39.

Add them at checkout, not after. They change how the run is routed, and they are not included unless you pick them.

Which raid first

If you just want a first clear on a budget, any of the four $29 raids will do: Last Wish, Vault of Glass, Root of Nightmares or Salvation's Edge. Pick the one you still need for a title, a weapon or a collection slot.

If you want weekly loot, skip the single-raid pages and use the Raid Rotator. It follows the featured raids, so you are not paying for a raid that is not paying you back this week.

If you want Master, be sure first. Salvation's Edge Master is $99, more than three Standard clears.

Flawless runs and special targets

Some goals are not a clear. They are a clean run with no wipes, or a specific unlock.

Last Wish sells Petra's Run at $119 and One Thousand Voices Guaranteed at $80. Vault of Glass adds a Flawless Triumph for +$70.

Salvation's Edge sells At All Costs, its flawless route, for +$259. The Desert Perpetual adds a Flawless Triumph for +$149 on Standard and +$249 on Epic, and the Whirling Ovation Exotic for +$199.

These cost more because they ask for more. A flawless route is not a normal clear with a hopeful extra, and it is planned that way from the first encounter.

Where each raid gets people stuck

Last Wish. Symbol calls, plate timing, cleanse swaps, the Vault, Riven and Queen's Walk all punish a team that improvises. It is old content, but the mechanics are real.

Vault of Glass. Atheon is the wall: the teleport team has to read the oracles and the room has to hold while they are gone. One bad callout and the phase is lost.

Root of Nightmares. A good first clear: shorter and more forgiving than Salvation's Edge. If you only want Nezarec, the boss checkpoint is $19 on Standard and $29 on Master.

Salvation's Edge. The hardest raid on this list. Long encounters, constant callouts, and a final boss that punishes one slow player.

The Desert Perpetual. The newest raid here. The card lists 100+ Power, so check yours before you order.

FAQ

Do I need Master for Master challenges? Yes. A normal clear does not complete challenges locked to Master. If you want those challenges, order the Master version.

How long does a raid take? The Vault of Glass card lists 1-2 hours. The other cards do not list a time, so ask your coach in the dashboard chat when you agree a session.

Will I get the weapon I want? You are buying the clear, the checkpoint or the challenges. Drops follow Destiny 2's loot rules, so no weapon is guaranteed unless the option on the card says so.

Does a coach play on my account? Yes, by default the coach plays on your account. If you want to play with the coach, choose the Play with our team option on the product card; it differs from product to product, so check the card. You talk to the coach in the dashboard chat either way.

Ready to finish your raid?

Choose the raid, the difficulty and any chests or challenges before checkout. Your coach takes it from there in the dashboard chat.
