Destiny 2 Immortal Title Guide: Requirements and Category Checklist
Immortal gives you some room to choose. You need to finish 12 of Monument of Triumph's 17 categories for the title, while gilding asks for all 17. Before committing to another raid, mission, or collectible hunt, look at what would actually finish one of your categories.
Start at the Tower, then follow the category counters
If you haven't begun Monument of Triumph, head to the monument in the Tower Courtyard and follow its introductory quest. To open the challenge list, go to the Triumphs button in Journey and use View Featured. That shortcut takes you straight to Monument of Triumph. The Tenet vendor screens also have a View Triumphs button. You'll find the Titles section in Journey too.
The Tower also gives you a simple example of how progress works. The Monument asks you to inspect the statue in the Courtyard. Finishing that task moves Worlds: Vistas toward its eight-Triumph requirement. Finish Vistas, and that completed category adds one to the Immortal counter.
That's the distinction to keep in mind: twelve individual tasks aren't twelve finished categories. The title's target is 12 categories, so you can leave five unfinished. You don't have to clear the entire collection to earn the base title.

Choose what to finish next, not just the smallest number
A low target can be tempting, but the work left on your account matters more. If Dungeon Challenges is sitting at 5/6, one more eligible Triumph would finish the category. That may be a better next step than starting another category from zero, even if its total is lower. You can also book help with your remaining Immortal categories, keeping the work focused on the gaps in your checklist.
Open the remaining tasks in your closest categories and pick something you can actually do with the gear and content you own. A mission you know well can still ask for a weapon you haven't earned yet. A raid objective might need a group before you can make any progress.
Monument of Triumph itself is available to all players. The raids and dungeons inside it can still require their relevant expansion or Dungeon Key. If a task sends you into content you don't own, look for another task in that category before setting the whole category aside.
You can also make a destination visit do more useful work. Heading to the Moon? The Vistas scenic spot is in Archer's Line, while the Patrol rendezvous sends you to Eris Morn in the Enduring Abyss. Plan both stops, along with any Moon combat or Case File tasks you've chosen, instead of discovering the second reason to visit after you've left.
These Triumphs need a little planning before you launch
Some entries are straightforward visits. Others send you away to prepare a weapon, complete a quest, or work through several destinations first. These are useful ones to spot while you're choosing your next category.
Allies: do the rendezvous work before visiting Lodi
Sortie Send-Off ends at Lodi in the Tower, but it starts with seven Rendezvous Triumphs from different categories. Keep those on your list as you work through the seal. Once the seven are done, head back to Lodi to finish the Allies task.
For The Bird also takes more than a conversation: it asks you to complete the weekly Vault of Glass Deepsight quest from Hawthorne in the Tower Bazaar. That makes it something to plan alongside your raid progress, rather than another quick stop at a Tower vendor.
Bring the weapon the mission asks for
For Full Deck, get 52 combatant defeats with Ace of Spades first, then complete Cayde's Fate in the Timeline.
The Exotic mission tasks have their own loadout conditions. Familiar Territory needs The Whisper completed with Whisper of the Worm equipped; Pure Perfection needs Zero Hour completed with Outbreak Perfected equipped. Put the required weapon on before launching so you're ready for the task you came to finish.
Use a crafted weapon for Maxed Out
Maxed Out, in Treasure Hunting, asks you to upgrade a crafted weapon to Gear Tier 5. If you already have a crafted weapon you want to improve, this gives that upgrade a place in your title plan. An ordinary Tier 5 drop isn't a substitute for upgrading the crafted copy.
Save the solo dungeon task for a full run
One-Person Wrecking Crew needs every encounter in a dungeon completed solo, without leaving the activity. Start with time for the whole run; a final-boss checkpoint won't cover those encounters. This is one of the Dungeon Challenges tasks, so you can choose a different entry if a full solo run isn't what you want to tackle next.
Build subclass changes into your session
The Line Between Light and Dark pairs a strike completion on a Light subclass with one on a Darkness subclass. If you're working on it, change subclasses between the two rather than repeating the same half of the task.
For Crucible, Thrice-Ordained asks for wins with Arc, Solar, and Void. After a win, move to a subclass you still need.
SRL: use your current title progress
After the title: gilding and Immortal Legend armor
Once you've reached the base title's 12-category target, gilding gives you a reason to return to the categories you left unfinished. Its target is all 17, so the freedom to skip five belongs to the base-title route.
The Immortal Legend armor ornaments work differently. Earning Immortal unlocks their purchase with Legendary Marks; it doesn't automatically add the set to your collection. You don't need gilding to unlock that purchase.

Immortal title FAQ
Can I skip Raid Challenges and Dungeon Challenges?
You can leave both categories unfinished and still work toward the base title's 12-category target. Just be aware that some tasks in other categories also involve raids or dungeons, such as Hawthorne's quest in Allies. Skipping those two headings doesn't by itself turn the rest of the seal into a raid-free or dungeon-free route.
Does the Immortal title expire?
No. Monument of Triumph and its new title remain in the game indefinitely. The separate deadlines for physical Bungie Rewards merchandise aren't an in-game title deadline.
Do I need every collectible set for My Preciousssss?
No, just one complete set from its listed choices: Dreaming City Starcats, Neomuna action figures, Throne World Lucent Moths, Pale Heart Visions of the Traveler, Europa penguin souvenirs, or Moon Jade Rabbits. If you've already been working on one of those collections, finish that set rather than starting all six for this Treasure Hunting task.
